As a veterinarian and pet owner myself, I can understand and empathize with the immense grief pet owners experience along with the “compassion fatigue” experienced by our veterinary staff and caregivers. When a beloved pet has a medical emergency, or nears the end of their life, it can be heartbreaking for everyone involved. I always wish I could do more to support them, but sometimes it just seems I can only give so much. This book gives me a better way to help pet owners in those difficult moments, as well as, enable my staff to be more compassionate and supportive throughout the entire process.

It is a collaborative effort with the generous support and contributions from veterinary professionals across the country, their administrators and staff, animal caregivers, along with pet owners alike who have shared their wisdom, expertise and heartfelt experiences for navigating the emotionally painful journey of pet loss. It is written to partner both the professional aspects of pet loss, along with the personal experiences of pet owners alike.

Being very detail oriented, loving pets and her deep desire to help others mend their broken hearts from their personal loss, were the driving forces behind the extensive research for writing the book. Knowing the good it could do for so many people in need. It is for everyone, and anyone who has ever lost or will be losing a cherished pet companion. Today, she lives near Houston, Texas with Randy, her husband of more than forty-five years. Together, they founded B J Randolph LLC to publish books for sharing vision through knowledge to help others.
